We’ve been having an amazing fall1 here in Oregon. Like, sunny and warm-but-not-too-warm every single day. I know it’s about to end but right now it’s so amazing and I’ve been mountain biking and walking and loving every precious minute. I’ve also had fun dressing for fall because I have a few new things I’ve been enjoying and some older stuff I’m mixing back in. First, though, here’s an outfit from a warm evening:
I think I wore this to bar trivia. My current favorite Bowie tee, my Madewell Darted Barrel-Leg jeans (the best!) and my patent leather red Birkenstock Arizonas (sold out in patent red, but these are SO pretty.)
I wore this to work and was still more dressed up than anyone in my office. The top is an Everlane Cozy-Rib Long-Sleeve Tee and the pants are Madewell Utility which I mentioned in my recent fall shopping post. They’re good! Comfortable and just the right amount of slouchy. My clogs are Birkenstock and I think I’m wearing some stripy Smartwool socks.
Okay! This is the Quince cashmere Fisherman Cropped Cardigan sweater, which I’d also mentioned in my fall shopping post It’s their new “2.0 cashmere” and I have to say, so far, so good. I love the fit (size down one size - I’m wearing the small) and it’s soft and light. So far it hasn’t pilled up but time will tell. I’m wearing it with my Madewell patch pocket jeans (mine are sold out, similar linked) and my very old Everlane Day Glove flats.
Another casual work outfit - AYR tee, Everlane linen shirt, Everlane straight leg pants and…oh. Those shoes are my new favorite thing. Story time: after I posted about wishing I could afford Gucci loafers, a long time blog reader-friend reached out and was selling a pair IN MY SIZE. She gave me a screaming deal (thank you again, E!) and y’all, they are perfect. My bad foot even likes them! I do need to get them zipsoled before the weather turns but lately I’ve been wearing them with everything. Sometimes it’s worth getting the thing you really want the first time.
This outfit was cute but I took the photo at 6:30am and it was still so dark that it just looks like I’m wearing blobs. Anyway, AYR button up, Quince cardigan, dark denim Madewell Perfect Vintage jeans, Birkenstock clogs. And yes, the cardigan left black fuzz all over that shirt.
And just to keep it real, this is what I wore yesterday while working from home. This is a shrunken Everlane terry sweatshirt that I thrifted, my old Mother Weekender jeans that I still love and my trashed Birkenstock Boston shearling clogs which I keep talking about replacing but I just keep wearing them.
Every time there’s a social media post about it the gnarled PNW lifers make it known that this is HORRIBLE and they LIKE the gloom and endless rain. I say take some vitamin D, broken people. It’ll be raining soon enough.
I have one of the original Quince cashmere cardigans and while it's very soft and comfy, it has turned into a matted mess. Looking foward to your ongoing review of the new cashmere and how it holds up!
That Bowie t-shirt is so good! Thanks for posting your outfits. I always get ideas. :-)
