Even though I’m not writing a personal style blog anymore I still take photos of my outfits because it forces me to not wear the same thing every single day. My goal is to have every item in my closet be something that fits and that I like to wear. I’ve gotten rid of a TON of stuff (some sold, some donated) and continue to edit out items that I haven’t worn in ages or that doesn’t quite fit me or my style anymore. I’m starting to get there:
I bought this Level 99 denim jacket a few years back and it’s pretty good! I like the copper buttons. I’ve talked about these Kut from the Kloth cropped pants before so y’all know I like them and I’m wearing my CDG Play Converse because they are cute with the pants and basically everything else.
This is a little bit “kooky pottery teacher” but I am just going with it. Striped Lululemon Love tee, Everlane Utility Barrel Pant and an oversized cardigan from Quince. Also, my weird all-black Birkenstock clogs1.
Whee, I like this so much! The jeans are Madewell Perfect Vintage wide leg and they’re a good entry-level to the big jeans all the kids are wearing. My shirt is Everlane and it’s linen and I LOVE IT. I am always amused when I read negative reviews about linen wrinkling too easily. Are you new on earth? Linen is great because it already looks rumpled! Don’t fight it. You can just go with it, I promise. My Birkenstocks are a platform version of the Arizona and my feet aren’t sure about them yet.
This is a Saturday outfit for running errands. LetLuv Bowie shirt that I paid too much for and Madewell Perfect Vintage cropped jeans that I’ve had forever. My sneakers are OluKai and I love them.
Okay! I’m wearing a dress. Call the media. I bought this Frank & Eileen Mary dress after having it follow me around the internet for literal years. I finally snapped and bought it so I could KNOW it didn’t work on me and return it. Unfortunately this plan really backfired because it’s so good. I’m wearing the medium and it’s slightly oversized which I like (no button gaping) but it’s still kind of flattering and soft? Ugh. My bag is the Clare V Petit Moyen which was a lucky Nordstrom Rack find. The resin strap (sold separately) is very extra but kind of fun. My silver Birkenstocks are six years old and I should just throw them out but instead I keep wearing them.
Guest location! This is my travel outfit for the FIFTEEN HOUR bullshit I went through to get home after a really nice visit with my friend Marianne. My favorite hoodie is lying there in the background and kept me cozy on the plane. I’m wearing a striped AYR Sno Cone tee (which have sadly been discontinued) and my old Athleta Brooklyn pants which are still my favorite choice for travel.
And finally, this was my “going out for tacos” outfit which features another discontinued AYR tee, incredibly old Madewell Cali demi-boot (these are pretty similar) and my super cheerful red Birks from last summer. Those were such a good purchase because they are SO RED. I think they’re sold out but they have other good colors in the patent big buckle family. Now, the bag. I love my little red Clare V Petit Moyen so much that when the bigger woven version, the Moyen Messenger, showed up on The RealReal I just lost my mind and ordered it. It’s lovely - big enough to hold all my stuff but still really light and it kind of molds to my body. I also love the double straps and I’m trying to resist buying a different short strap because they have so many cute designs. STOP IT, CLARE V. LET ME REST.
They look just like the $60 EVA version which is annoying and hilarious. Honestly, just get the cheap pair and save the money.
A while back I was telling a friend that I'd gotten a couple of new linen tops. She asked me about wrinkling. I asked, "Do you respect wood?" which led to me trying to convert her to linen and Curb Your Enthusiasm.
Don't ditch yer silver birks - get them re-soled / rehabbed. It's the Oregon way. Try Footwise. Also, stripes continue to look great on you.
