I need a break from the moving-across-the-country saga so I’m going to talk about stuff I like for a minute. (Disclaimer: I get commission for purchases made through some of the links in this post.)
This Basic Dumb Hoodie
Y’all, I’m sorry. This is where I am right now. I think I referenced this Scuba hoodie a few months ago when I bought it and it’s become my #1 First Choice hoodie. If you’re a hoodie person, you know what this means. Look, it’s Lululemon. It’s cropped. It’s oversized. The sleeves are huge. I KNOW. But I wear it almost every day and it’s so cute on and very warm and cozy. I live in a super casual, rainy place, okay? It’s just so good and I will not apologize for it but if it helps I have never owned a Stanley cup. (But no shade to those who partake. Let people enjoy things!)
This Amazing Gadget
Whoever invented Stitchy deserves a prize. It is so simple but so effective and WHY DIDN’T I THINK OF IT. You know that shirt you never wear because the buttons pop open? Stitchy. You know that dress that’s just a little too low-cut? Stitchy. That shirtdress that likes to gape? STITCHYYYYY. It’s basically a price tag gun loaded with tiny plastic tabs that are invisible. Marianne bought it and told me about it and I immediately bought it and it’s the best. No more safety pins and no more fabric tape which is terrible for your clothes and leaves behind sticky residue. STITCHY THAT MOTHER RIGHT UP. (PS. It sells out quickly but they also restock quickly.)
This Gorjana Necklace
Do you ever buy something all “this might be okay” and then end up wearing it every single day for the next two months? This Sunset Etched necklace is that thing. It’s simple but super pretty and the mother of pearl gives it a little extra glow that just works with everything. I’ve been a fan of Gorjana for a while - it’s great for simple, mid-priced everyday jewelry - and this necklace is definitely a favorite. (PS. I’m wearing it with a labradorite bead necklace I bought from a lovely seller on Etsy.)
This Snail Slime I Put on my Face
That’s right, my friends. I’m putting this COSRX slime ‘o the snail (okay, Snail Mucin) right on my face and honestly? It’s pretty good stuff. I am back on Tretinoin and this time I’m not peeling like a lizard because I am relying on snail goo1 to keep me dewy. I use it every morning while my face is still a little damp and then apply moisturizer over it. I really think it’s helping to keep my skin feeling hydrated! I should also mention that I use a couple of (the terribly named) Slurp products - one that’s an exfoliator and the other that’s a ceramide serum that helps repair/maintain your skin’s moisture barrier. They are both excellent products and my face is looking pretty okay as I continue to stave off decay.
Turns Out I Like Corners
I learned a long time ago that I am prone to dropping my phone but also that I hate phone cases built for people who drop their phones. I was into Burga cases for a while and then I decided to try one of those squared off corner cases because my hair stylist has one and she’s really cool. (I am seriously that easily influenced.) I bought a shiny red case from Flaunt recent and it is SO SATISFYING. It’s almost the exact red of my Clare V bag which is the level of matchy that I enjoy. (But honestly, it’s a really nice and protective case and we’re very happy together.) I also bought an Ohsnap phone grip which is overpriced but low profile and useful.
Love the snail mucin too! If you don't listen to Everything is Fine podcast you might consider it. The COSRX stuff was recco.ed over there too. Love your new format. Thx for continuing to write.
I had something very like a Stitchy literally 50 years ago. It used those little plastic things to attach buttons. I love the idea that someone found one in a garage sale somewhere and said to themselves, huh, I bet we could sell this sucker in 2024.
