What I Wore Recently.

With a few spring shopping updates.

I take a photo of my outfit nearly every day because old style blog habits die hard. It helps though, especially if I have something new and I’m trying to decide if it works or not. Sometimes the photo gives you the vision you were hoping for but mostly it’s like, naw girl. That ain’t it. You win some, you lose some. Here are what I hope are the winners:

Y’all, these are the Beyond Yoga pants I posted about recently. They look and drape like trousers but feel like athleisure pajamas. I really love them! I’m wearing them with a CDG Play sweater I bought from The Realreal and an old Madewell belt.

My weird Nili Lotan jeans are still sparking joy. I’m wearing them with an old AYR Sno Cone tee (sadly discontinued) and my bright-ass adidas sneakers. My belt is the Madewell belt I made you all buy last fall. My jewelry gets a cameo today:

I’m wearing my old bird skull from Paxton Gate (my friend Kate also owns this necklace and said she wears it when she wants to feel witchy, which I love.) I’m also wearing a SHASI gemstone necklace I bought secondhand strung with various Clare V charms. I’m basically a crow wearing my collection of shiny trinkets.

Remember when I was talking about wanting a striped button up shirt from Everlane? I found one, but it’s from Marine Layer. It’s the Jane Relaxed Shirt in Cali Poplin. I originally ordered a medium but it’s really oversized so I exchanged it for a small. It’s a perfect, casual button up - not too stiff but not flimsy either. (It’s also 20% off right now.) My pants are last year’s version of the Madewell Slim Straight Utility and my flats are very old version of the Everlane Day Glove which are finally available again in red.

This is kind of a look, but I’m into it. I’m wearing my Kut from the Kloth bomber jacket which is currently marked down to $65! It’s a great little jacket. I’m wearing a medium, which is my usual size. I’m wearing it with my Hey Gang jeans that I picked up during their recent big sale. This style is always sold out but they restock pretty regularly. If these particular jeans stalk you around the internet like they did me and you’re curious, I’m happy to answer questions. My bag is Clare V (purchased secondhand) and my boots are secondhand Everlane chelsea boots. Okay, now for a spring shopping update:

I did it! I ordered the Boden Mayfair cropped trench. I first ordered an 8 and it was quite oversized (why is everything so oversized right now??) I returned it and ordered a 6 which is what I’m wearing. I’m copying Boden’s styling and wearing it with a red and white striped tee that I bought from Old Navy for $12,50. I can’t remember the last time I shopped there but this tee is 100% cotton and so far it hasn’t disappointed me. My jeans are Madewell Stovepipe and my boots are Freda Salvador via eBay ($43!)

Here’s what it looks like buttoned up. It just arrived yesterday so I haven’t had much time with it but it’s so nicely made and has fun details, like the underside of the collar is poppy red! By the time you read this I’ll be at a work conference and I think I’m going to break my “no untested clothing for travel” rule and bring this trench along with me.
