I don’t have a ton of outfits saved up from the last month because I wear the same things over and over like I’m unemployed or something. Ha. But the weather is starting to get more autumnal, so that is exciting. First, I wanted to give y’all a gala dress update:

This dress is by Hutch and it was absolutely perfect for the event. I felt like I nailed the theme and I felt very glamorous. However, this dress was also a total pain in the ass. Here’s a close-up of my necklace (my mom made it) and my décolletage, which is bolstered by three safety pins and four pieces of dress tape:
I’d originally assumed my beloved Stitchy would take care of making sure my boobs stayed in this dress, but the fabric was two layers of very delicate material and the lil stitch bits pulled right through it. Oops. Anyway, thanks again for all your help in picking a dress for the event, which included jousting (for real, with horses and men in armor) and lots of questionable “signature” cocktails. On to the normal stuff:
Boots and jackets! I bought this AllSaints leather jacket this past summer from The RealReal because nobody buys leather jackets in the summer and they just languish and get marked way down. Nordstrom Rack is also a good place to look. This is the Cargo Biker style1 which I love because it’s got quilted shoulder padding, so it gives me the appearance of having actual shoulders. I’m wearing it over that Madewell tee I told y’all to buy (this is similar), my favorite Madewell belt you probably already have and my favorite Hey Gang jeans (wait for a sale.) My boots were a Poshmark purchase but are currently 30% off.
This is what I wore to the historic foundation’s house tour event on a rainy Sunday. I’m wearing the same jeans and belt as above with a Prana flannel shirt and an older pair of Lululemon Strongfeel sneakers that don’t come in this wine color anymore, sadly. My bag is a Mulberry small Amberley satchel which I bought in London a couple of years ago2.
See? So boring. This is the same pair of jeans, same Mulberry bag. This time I’m wearing my slouchy denim with an oversized white button down - this one is the Deep End from AYR. It’s really good but I don’t wear it enough. I’d love to eventually get the silk version which I’d also probably not wear enough. My black clogs are the Birkenstock Boston in the all-black version3.
OG readers of the blog will recognize this furry chonk! Daniel hasn’t photobombed me in a while but once he realized my outfit wasn’t made of chicken, he left.
The weather was finally cool enough to wear my cropped Boden trench! I bought this back in the spring and I’m so happy to be able to get it back in the rotation. My tee is from Kule and my jeans are the Madewell stovepipe. My sneakers are Adidas Handball Spezial and the color is hard to find, but I think this red/blue combo is really good. My bag, which you can barely see, is the excellent Moyen Messenger by Clare V.
That’s it! Please heart this if you liked it and leave a comment if you feel so inclined.
Fun fact: This is the same style of AllSaints jacket worn by Flo (Sassy Smurf!) in Ted Lasso.
I had zero business doing this but something about being in the Regent Street Mulberry store in London, plus a Black Friday sale, plus a glamorous couple from Switzerland who befriended us and made it seem like getting your shoes handmade in London was a totally reasonable thing people do? I bought the bag. No regrets. It’s the best.
While I don’t regret getting Birk clogs, I do regret getting the fancy all-black leather version because they honestly look just like the EVA version. Just get the regular ones and save the money.
Why did you show me those jeans. Why? They are PERFECT.
I love that Boden trench! I’m also very curious about the stovepipe jeans.
