What I Wore Recently.

Hello! I’m still taking pics of my outfits and they’ve gotten even more boring! I’m very much okay with this because I’m at this weird place where I’m happy with my wardrobe. I’ve really been trying to buy less but… better, if that makes sense. I want everything in my closet to be something I can wear for more than a single season or year. I’m not going to say I’m not tempted by whatever cheap Target dress is the hot thing for summer but I’m not gonna do it. I’m not buying it¹ because I know what’ll happen. I’ll wear it twice, decide it’s too____ (fill in the blank) and donate it next summer. Anyway, here's what I’ve been wearing lately:

I bought this linen blouse final sale from AYR because I was feeling like taking a risk and this one paid off. It’s great. Just the right length, easy as anything, and not too sheer. Unfortunately it’s also sold out but this one at Everlane looks very similar. I’m also wearing my Way-High Sailor jeans from Everlane which are still a big favorite. Obviously my red patent Birks had to happen because why not.

Red Birks go with everything, I’m telling you. I’m wearing them yet again with my black Madewell Kick Out Crop jeans and a very fun cotton Esparta blouse from Apiece Apart. I bought this top on super sale last summer but it’s still available on the secondhand market. Nobody does fun prints quite like this brand.

This is a pretty average work outfit for me. I’m wearing a white AYR tee (discontinued because ugh), my most loved Everlane linen blouse, Kut from the Kloth Meg pants and my black and white Birkenstock Arizona Split sandals. I look like a kooky pottery teacher but I’m going with it.

This one surprised me because it’s so simple but really works somehow. I’m wearing an oversized AYR button up shirt that has been a decent investment. My Madewell jeans are an old version of the cropped Perfect Vintage style and I’m carrying my new-ish Clare V Moyen Messenger bag that I really, really love. My sneakers are Converse.

I wore this the other night to bar trivia (we came in 2nd.) Another discontinued AYR tee, my Agolde Parker Long shorts that I bought three years ago! These were expensive but they’re so good and worth the money for sure. I’m also wearing and my platform Birks that rudely gave me a blister so I can’t recommend them. My bag is my happy lil Clare V Petit Moyen bag that I snagged at Nordstrom Rack. (Is it obsessive that I check the website for new Clare V every day? Because I do.)

Finally, this is what I wore to work earlier this week. A perfect sack of a dress from Nic + Zoe that I bought last summer and have worn a million times. It’s super easy and comfortable and seems to go with everything. Obviously I’m being incredibly predictable by wearing my red Birks YET AGAIN but nothing perks me up like red accessories.

1. I was recently tempted at Target by some pajamas with panthers on them but I did not buy them. I DID NOT. BUY THEM.
