Ramping Things Up.
Hello! Welcome to my second week of not having a job. My hope is that I can look back on this time fondly and appreciate having free time for other projects but currently I’m still feeling panicky and deeply uncool about it all. I’m a Capricorn and we goats like structure and goals.
This is my really awkward way of saying that I’m going to turn on the paid Substack option next week so I can bring in a little income. To those of you who’ve pledged your support, thank you so much. (Also, this is your opportunity to back out of that pledge if you want to - no hard feelings!)
Starting on Monday, personal posts will be behind a paywall. This will allow me to write more deeply about some things I’ve been hesitant to put out in a public place - things like my divorce, growing up with learning disabilities, my struggles with the old blog (Looks Good From The Back), and some deeper dives into the stuff I’m into. It won’t all be heavy, just more personal.
On the public side, anything I post with affiliate links1 will still be free. This includes book reviews, Stuff I Like, and outfit posts.
I’m aiming for 2-3 posts a week to give myself a writing goal (hi, Capricorn!) and create a little structure, so my days will hopefully involve more than job-searching and low-key panic. I hope you’ll keep reading and please know that I appreciate you all for reading my Substack in whatever capacity works for you.
When you click on one of my affiliate links and make a purchase I get a small commission, which I really appreciate.

I somehow missed this when you posted it, but I just subscribed!
I’m excited about this and just got my subscription set up. Looking forward to what’s coming next!
