May Check In, Part II
No germs in this one.
My entire May Check In post was basically about me being gross and sick so I thought maybe a less woe-is-me update would be nice, huh? Because what I described last week about being so sick I was unable to focus on anything but the physical, thus giving myself a break, was a turning point. I’ve tried my damnedest to hang on to that momentum. I was apparently one stomach flu away from my goal mindset! Okay, maybe that’s too much to hope for but I have been feeling better all around.
Not happy, exactly, just better. Because as I’ve said, “happy” for me is not an all-the-time thing. Sometimes happy is just getting back to my boring routine. This week I’ve been getting up a little earlier every morning, eating the same boring, healthy breakfast, and going to the gym or going for a walk or doing a Peloton ride every day. I’m reading, writing, organizing, listing shit to sell online, and applying for jobs. (Related: does anyone have an amazing resume writer they can recommend? Mine has moved on to weirder things.)
