I am a summer person but I love dressing for fall because jeans, sweaters and boots are my favorite uniform. I take outfit pics nearly every morning and then look through them later to see what I wear on repeat and what sticks. Lots of repeats going on in this one which I think it a good thing because it means I found something that really works for me:
My love for these weird Nili Lotan Shon jeans knows no bounds. I’ve been wearing them every chance I get. My sweater is the Quince cashmere cardigan (this year’s version in the upgraded cashmere) and I’m happy to report it’s much better quality than last year’s version. Much less pilling and extremely slouchy and cozy. My boots are Cole Haan Ramona which I bought to replace my ancient pair I got at Costco a million years ago. Oh, and that’s the Madewell belt we all now have.
You thought I was kidding, eh? I love this odd silhouette. I’m wearing an old Quince cashmere crewneck sweater and my bag is the Mulberry Small Amberly which I bought at the Mulberry store in London last year which is the bougiest thing I’ve ever written. No regrets. I’m wearing my black Birkenstock clogs with leopard print Happy Socks. (Mine are old!)
This is a WFH look, if you couldn’t tell. I’m wearing very old Madewell jeans, a ribbed black top from Everlane (which I’m wearing in most of these outfits - I have several and they are great!) and a really good flannel shirt by PrAna which I got NWT on Poshmark. (There are still a ton of them available on Posh in the “rich sapphire” colorway!) Other colors can be found here and here. It’s soft and warm and slightly oversized. It’s become my new favorite casual layer.
Okay, we went to Puerto Vallarta for Thanksgiving so I had to dig out all my fun summer stuff. This is a favorite, which I copied from Marianne who has the longer version. it’s an Emerson Fry cotton caftan and it’s SO good. My husband says it gives Mrs. Roper which I take as a compliment.
Back to reality. I wore this to work and it’s…not great but I was comfortable and they can’t all be winners. The pants are Madewell Slim Straight Utility and they’re slouchy and soft, which is a nice change from hard pants. I’m wearing the ribbed top in charcoal, Quince cardigan and Birkenstock clogs. The socks are a choice, I know.
Okay, this was yesterday and I love this whole outfit. The jeans are The Mid-Way Jean from Everlane and I LOVE the wide leg and plain wash. They’re a bit tight in the waist so I’m wearing them around the house to see if they relax a little before I take the tags off. Isn’t the PrAna flannel shirt cute? If you want the one I’m wearing, get on Poshmark and snap one up. My boots are Pikolinos which I bought last year. An easy clog look without the break-in period.
Have you been wearing anything good lately? Do tell.
I love those wacky jeans! I bought a similar pair of Pilcro in the spring and wore them until it went into the 80s every day. My winter uniform is corduroy pants and the Maeve Carys sweater, which I own in five different prints.
The last outfit looks fab on you— the jeans, yassss! I love a plain, dark wash and a wide leg at the bottom, very flattering.
