I get commission for purchases made through links in this post.
This Instagram post make me snort laugh because nothing could be more true. I’m at step 3 but leaning into step 2. I encourage you all to join me in buying yourself a little something.
Candle time.
I already told you to get this, but here’s an extra gentle push: buy the candle warmer. It’s the best way to use up those nice candle stumps you’ve been holding on to. If you insist on buying yourself a new candle, this Thymes Frasier Fir is best holiday/tree candle I’ve found. This one at Target though? Is really good and inexpensive.
The Cutest Readers.
It’s come to this: Sometime in the last year my bifocal contacts stopped working and now I need readers. I’ve bought a few really cheap pairs that aren’t great so I recently spent a smidge more and got a pair of Peepers (also available on Amazon.) Y’all, they are so good. Like, legitimately fashionable and well made. This is the pair, I promise.
A Lovely Object.
This hand lotion is pretty good and has retinol which is also good but the real winner is the container (refillable!) which looks like an Art Deco celluloid piece and the lid doubles as a tray to hold your rings. I was gifted this last year and have also given it as a gift because it’s exactly the kind of thing you don’t buy for yourself but SHOULD. (It keeps selling out on Sephora but you can also get it direct from Soft Services.)
IYKYK.
Did you know that occasionally there’s Clare V stuff on the Nordstrom Rack website? (You should, I’ve definitely mentioned it.) The last drop was mostly weird jewelry with a few really excellent things mixed in. The good stuff goes fast but I did snap up a cute scarab beetle charm before it sold out. I check obsessively, so I’ll give you a head’s up when they post some new stuff (hopefully bags!)
The Fanciest Lip Balm.
I like a fancy lip product now and then because it’s a small-ish purchase that can feel special. I love a great $8 lip gloss but sometimes, just sometimes, you should go fancy and get a Dior Addict Lip Glow. I’ve had it in a few shades and recently got it in “Dior 8” which is a sheer brick red but the 001 Pink is a classic. The packaging alone makes this fun but the product is also really good.
Something For your Feline Child.
If your cat has been a good boy or girl, I highly recommend this ridiculous catnip filled fish. My cat Daniel is deeply in love with his and will blissfully hold it between his paws and lick it aggressively until everyone in the room is thoroughly grossed out. It’s a hit, which is rare in the cat world. Also the fish is a Jackson… Pollock. Get it?
This is possibly The One.
Finally, if you’ve been a good person all year (and I know you have) and are quietly obsessed with finding the perfect striped shirt, Go for the KULE Modern Long tee. Just do it. I finally caved and bought one during their Black Friday sale and have zero regrets. It’s perfect. Not too thick or thin, slightly boxy but not overly so, hits just right. And it comes in a bunch of different stripes and solid colors. I’m in trouble.
Ha, my cat really likes catnip dynamite sticks. So much licking! I think they just spray the outside with some kind of catnip oil because after the slurp-fest, he has no interest in them at all.
Ooh that Kule tee is really good. Thanks for that!
