Thank you all for your incredible comments on my last post about Lucy. Sincerely, you are an incredibly kind and empathetic bunch and I’m so honored to have you all in my life, even if only through the internets.

The past month has been heavy, right? So now I’ll bring you something lighter with the usual assortment of Stuff I Like:
This In-Shower Salve I Swear By.
I got the Hanni In-Shower Salve for my birthday and y’all, it is SO NICE. You keep this in the shower and as a last step, slather it on, rinse quickly and pat yourself dry. I know this sounds weird and counter-productive but I promise you’ll smell really nice and your skin will be VERY soft, especially if you also use the Bioderma Atoderm Shower Oil I recommended a while back.
This Show That’s Exactly What I Needed.
I’d been hearing about Abbott Elementary for a while but the concept (a group of dedicated teachers in a Philadelphia elementary school) didn’t really sound like something I’d be into. I was 100% wrong and it’s a delight. It’s funny and real, the casting is amazing and I’m already super invested in the characters. If you need something light but intelligent to watch, this is it.
This Lipstick That Will Make You Fancy.
Another delight of a birthday gift was this refillable Lisa Eldridge lipstick in Ribbon, a pink-forward red that is exactly what you need to brighten your whole face. Plus, the case is weighty and glamorous and will make you feel fancy as fuck. Did I mention it’s refillable? It’s a splurge but as a recipient of this splurgy item I can attest that it makes a very nice gift.
This Podcast For Your Lunchtime Walks.
On the days I’m in office I try to take a 30 minute walk after lunch. (I even bought a walking pad so I can’t use bad weather as an excuse.) I like to listen to podcasts while I walk and lately I’ve been really into the Hit Parade podcast which does well-researched deep dives into music chart history. The best part is they actually play clips of the songs! (Nothing is more annoying than a podcast about music that can’t pay the rights to the music they’re discussing. I get it, but ugh.) I especially love the episodes about 70s and 80s music - The Lost and Lonely Edition and The Deadbeat Club Edition are both fantastic.
These Trousers That Feel Like Sweatpants.
Marianne has a great pair of trousers from Alo Yoga that look amazing on her, but the regular length is too short for me and the long length is too long. Looking for an alternative, I tried this pair from Athleta and oof, they were extremely wide and slightly too short. I finally ordered this pair by Beyond Yoga (also available at Zappos) and they are perfect. Lightweight and comfortable and long enough to wear with a low heel. The best part, they feel like loungewear but look like regular grown lady trousers that I can wear to work.
PS. Because its very much still winter I feel it’s my duty to tell you that I also got this VERY discounted jacket at Athleta in the bone color (better dumb little walk visibility!) and it’s a perfect lightweight puffer with a generous rear zippered pocket so you can stash your hat and gloves if you get too warm. Perfection. The end.
I'm glad you're enjoying Abbott Elementary! It's a rare show that we all love in our household.
Which walking pad did you buy? I’ve been considering one myself for the crap weather days, like today.
