Keep Moving.
A bunch of middle age gym rat talk.
Hi all! I am back in my life and trying to get on with things but guess what? That sad feeling really wants to stick around for a while. I know that one of the things that reliably helps to shake me out of it is exercise but I’ve most struggled with finding a decent gym in my new home.
The first gym I tried was the (only) Crossfit gym nearby. It was a miserable failure, as I mentioned here. Honestly, I don’t think my joints can handle Crossfit anymore anyway, so no big loss. Then I found a local weightlifting gym nearby. It was tiny and dark but seemed like it really catered to weightlifting. Lots of squat racks and deadlifting platforms, a stack of kettlebells, a single treadmill, no circuit machines. My kinda place.
Except, not at all, as it turns out. A couple runs this gym, and I first met with the wife when I went to check it out and she was friendly enough. That one time.
